As the world population ages and the cost of healthcare increases, there is increasing need for replacement body parts and treatment for chronic conditions that are affordable. New biomaterials, incorporated into medical devices, can be used to promote tissue repair and regeneration by the patients’ own stem cells.
Electrospun scaffolds are novel added-value biomaterials with the potential to address a wide range of innovative therapeutic applications. Despite their significant potential, only a handful of such materials are in clinical trials and products because of the challenge of consistent production. The Electrospinning Company manufactures clinical grade materials adding the reliability that is necessary for regulator and consumer confidence.
