About Airborne Projects
Our goal is to be a global reference in the Drone flight automation markets providing new tools and parts for Drone Operators and builders.
- Rua Pedro Nunes
Airborne Projects aims at bringing greater automation to drones working in partnership with drone manufacturers or clients wanting to enhance the capabilities of their drones.
The challenges of making drone operations more automatic are accompanied by safety and technical constraints which also present the best opportunities.
The challenge is then to revolutionize industries where a flexible, cost-effective automation can be deployed to increase productivity and quality.
Most of the automation for any robotic agent comes from some form of awareness of the environment in which it is surrounded. For an aerial robot like a Drone, this awareness comprises its current position in the outside world. The more precise the position, the greater the confidence that other sensors are framed on a point in space.
Current GPSs offer the possibility to guide a Drone to a point with cm precision and to land autonomously without human intervention. Also, the drone may take aerial images with unprecedented detail to create very detailed 3D images of the ground to better plan worker and machine deployments, for instance. These capabilities financially democratize up-to-date information that can be used to make better decisions.
Automation and vertical solutions always need a frame of reference to provide value. That is where Airborne Projects is.
